After many years of spiking and digging at a volleyball course at St Albans college, we knew our only way forward was to form a competitive club. With that in mind we joined the HVA (Hertfordshire Volleyball Association) and experienced people hitting the ball back.We have learnt to absorb comprehensive beatings, swollen ankles and water lapping at our feet (anyone attending the fabulous 'Walton-on-the-Naze' tournament will understand), and are now a better team for it.
Harriers are a volleyball club established in 1993 and play in Hertfordshire in the UK.
We met at a college course, and decided to form a competitive volleyball team.
Named the Harriers, as our first venue was in view of Hawker Sidley's, manufacturer of the Harrier 'jump' jet, and not because of our hovering ability at the net
After numerous homes in the past years, we are now settled at St Albans Girls School, St Albans, Hertfordshire, 20 miles north of London.
We train on Wednesday nights from 8:45 p.m. during the months of September to April. We play our home matches on Monday nights from 8:00 pm. We play in various tournaments throughout the summer. e Contact for more details
